About Kelly Gruber
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 20 years if extensive experience providing clinical and psychosocial support to children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating complex emotional, medical, and life circumstances. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, adjustment difficulties, family stress, chronic illness, and significant life transitions.
For many years, I have worked in pediatric oncology, where I provided comprehensive psychosocial assessments, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention, care coordination, advocacy, and resource support. Working in oncology has taught me how to meet people where they are during some of the most difficult moments of their lives while providing a calm, compassionate, and supportive therapeutic presence.
My clinical approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy should be collaborative and individualized, helping clients identify their strengths, understand patterns that may be contributing to distress, develop practical coping strategies, and move toward meaningful goals.
I also bring a strong understanding of whole-person care. I recognize that emotional well-being can be affected by relationships, family dynamics, physical health, financial stress, work, social circumstances, and major life transitions. My experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams has strengthened my ability to look at the whole person rather than focusing only on a diagnosis or presenting problem.
I am drawn to the opportunity to provide accessible, compassionate mental health support through BetterHelp. I value creating a therapeutic relationship in which clients feel heard, respected, safe, and empowered. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, build on their strengths, and create meaningful and sustainable changes in their lives.
