Lorena Drakes

I'm a diversely experienced counselor who is passionate about helping others navigate life in embodied, coherent, and healthy ways. I primarily specialize in trauma and serious mental illness with an emphasis on the psychosomatic process. Using Somatic Experiencing, I help clients renegotiate their traumas so that they aren't as intensely experienced in the present. I have a particular interest in working with high IQ/gifted individuals. You may have been identified as a "gifted and talented" student in school, through psychological evaluation, and/or other means. The way gifted individuals move through life, social, and occupational settings can feel like they don't fit in, and I enjoy helping them navigate these circumstances.
